Nocona ISD encourages all residents to become registered voters. The deadline to register and be eligible to vote in the November 8, 2016 is Oct. 11, 2016. If you are not a registered voter you can register online at http://www.votetexas.gov/register-to-vote/

Early voting begins Monday, October 24 and ends Friday, November 4, 2016.

Montague County now allows voters to vote at any of the county’s voting locations. The closest Nocona voting location for early voting will be at the Nocona Community Center, next to the Indian Oaks Golf Course. Voting on November 8 will be at the Tales ‘n’ Trails Museum on Hwy 82 and Nocona Community Center, both on Highway 82.

Registered voters may vote with a valid Texas driver’s license or other approved photo identification. You are not required to bring your voter registration card to vote. For more information go online to http://www.votetexas.gov/faq/

People who live in the Nocona Independent School District are eligible to vote for or against the new high school.

The last bond election was held in 1978. It has been 38 years since Nocona ISD held a bond election to address the major facility needs.

Voters will decide by November 8, 2016 whether to approve Nocona ISD $16.8 million proposal. The ballot will allow voters to vote “for” or “against” the construction of a new high school.

If the bond election passes, the planning and implementation process will begin immediately with expected completion prior to the start of the 2018-19 school year.
