Where else can you learn new details about quantum physics, cognitive science and gene editing, all written in a vocabulary tweens and teens can understand? At SNFS we cover topical developments across the disciplines. These range from climate change, e-cigarettes and sports-related injuries to eating disorders and the latest brain research. We now publish more stories each week. They are newsier — some appearing the same day that a research paper is published. We also cover a broader range of fields, and we probe them in greater depth. We don’t just describe new developments, we also report what’s known and still unknown.

Every four years, political candidates run to become the next President of the United States. To engage students in this process, Discovery Education and ENVISION have developed a series of classroom resources to lead students through the major presidential election year milestones. Our online resources, videos, digital tools, and live virtual experiences will bring these events to life through the perspective of the youth audience — from understanding the significance of the Iowa Caucus and important primaries; to the national debates and conventions, all the way to Election Day and the Presidential Inauguration.

Mission US engages students in the study of transformational moments in American history. Each mission consists of an interactive game and a set of curriculum materials that are aligned to National Standards and feature document-based activities. The game immerses players in rich, historical settings and then empowers them to make choices that illuminate how ordinary people experienced the past.
