Challenge Teacher and GT Coordinator
I graduated from Nocona High School and Texas A&M University in College Station. I have a master’s degree from Univerisity of Texas at Tyler.
I have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Educational Curriculum and Instruction. I am certified to teach Early Childhood/Kindergarten through 8th grade, with a specialization in Reading. I also have certifications in Gifted and Talented and English as a Second Language. I have a Master’s in School Counseling.
I began teaching at Nocona Elementary School 8 years ago. I have taught 1st grade and 2nd grade for the district. I also spent a couple years substituting in all grade levels. Currently, I am the GT coordinator and teacher of the Challenge Program.
I began teaching in 1989 for Lewisville I.S.D. I taught all subject areas for 2nd and 3rd grades with an emphasis on reading. I also served on the leadership team and as the mentor teacher of the campus. I have also worked as the lead teacher for PreK classes at a private school in Coppell, Texas. In addition, I worked for an art company and taught academic art to various aged children at various locations throughout the DFW metroplex area.
My husband Matt and I have three daughters. We have a senior in Nocona High School. Our middle daughter is in undergraduate school at Texas A&M and our oldest daughter is in graduate school there as well. They both graduated from Nocona High School. We have an old cat and three dogs.
I like to spend time with my family at the lake, at our farm or cooking out. I like to go to concerts and also travel when I have the chance. I love to take things that are old and repurpose them for fun!
