Educational History:

Graduated from Odessa High School, Odessa, Texas 1971

I went to Southern Nazarene College from 1971 -1972 to start my college journey

In 1998, I graduated from Odessa Junior College with an Associate in Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology.

I graduated in December, 2003 from Texas Woman’s University, Denton Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education.

August, 2008, I received my Master’s degree in Special Educaiton with an emphasis in Emotional and Behavior Disorders

I was educated on the piano by Mrs. J. H. McClure, Mrs. Lester Dunn at Southern Nazarene University, and Mr. Glenn Wilson, who also taught me voice lessons, at North Central Texas College.

I recieved from training in music theory at North Central Texas College, Southern Nazarene University, and Texas Woman’s University.

Current Position:

I began teaching at Nocona Elementary School in August, 2014.  I started teaching in the resource classsroom but was changed to teaching life skills that year.  During the 2015 – 2016 school year, I taught Special Education Resource Grades 1 – 5.  During 2016 – 2017 school year I started teaching in special educaiton resource.  In November I started teaching elementary music.  This year I will teach music to kindergartne through fifth grades.

Previous Position:

Prior to teaching at Nocona,I taught one year in Special Education at Dowling Elementary in Odessa, Texas in the Ector County ISD.  I was responsible for grades 1 – 6.  During this year, I, also, tutored 6 grade reading and math.

Before Odessa, I taught 10 years at Callisburg Elemenatary school Special Education Resource 1 – 5. 

Family Information:

I have never married but I have a very busy life.  My sister, brother-in-law, and nephew live with me.  My  sister, Tanya, works with Goodwill, Inc. in Sherman, Texas.   Denny, Tanya’s husband, works as a JCO at the Gainesville State School. Bailey Alan, my 15 year old nephew, is ia freshman at Callisburg Middle School.  Bailey plays in the percussion section of the band.  Tanya plays the piano, Bailey plays the drums, and I play the synthiezer for our praise team, Journey Sound.  We have two dogs, CherokeeSioux, who is my red heeler, and Rocky, who is Bailey’s boxer.   

Personal Information:

I have played the piano for many years.  I have taught children’s choirs, Sunday school, and piano.  One of my favorite hobbies is crocheting.  I, also, play the synthesizer for our church praise team, Journey Sound.  Of course, during the summer I spend my time running after Bailey and his friends.
